At the IPC Hand Soldering World Championships, the best of the best are judged on the functionality of the assembly, compliance with the assembly process, and overall product quality. The top team takes the title!

Munich, Germany 2022 World Championship Hand Soldering Competition
In conjunction with electronica 2022, IPC hosted its popular IPC Hand Soldering Competition World Championship in Munich, Germany November 15, 2022, welcoming 10 competitors from across the globe.
- First Place: Eliane Chesnais, Thales, who received a score of 556 out of a possible 558 for her finished working board.
- Second place: Pauline Duval, Thales, who scored 551 points out of a possible 558 on her working board.
- Third Place: Xiangchao Wang, Shenyang Railway Signal Co., Ltd. who received 550 points out of a possible 558 for his board.
For the first time in the Hand Soldering World Championship history, the top two winners came from the same company, Thales.
IPC Hand Soldering World Championship and Rework Competition, San Diego, California, 2019
IPC’s hand soldering competition returned to the United States with the first-ever IPC Hand Soldering World Championship and Rework Competition, held at IPC APEX EXPO 2019 in San Diego, California.
The assemblies were then tested for function and evaluated in their entirety according to IPC-A-610G Class 3 criteria.
- In first place, Ryosuke Matsunami, PWB Corporation, Japan, took home $1,000 USD and the IPC Hand Soldering World Championship title.
- Second place went to Wenji ZHANG, Jiangsu Jinling Mechanism Manufacture Factory, China.
- Third place was claimed by Le Van Linh, Spartronics Vietnam Co, Ltd., Vietnam.
