Item Quality Assurance Coordinator

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire an Item Quality Assurance Coordinator.  The Item Quality Assurance Coordinator assists in the completion of the Department’s work and projects in a timely manner. Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other IPC departments and staff members and with organizations and individuals outside the Association. This position will assist operational examination development activities related to psychometrics, examination building, quality assurance of exams.  Identifying and communicating defects in processes and making an effort for a continual improvement of the QA process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Examination Development – 40%

  • With the assistance of the Psychometrician produce technical documentation related to item, test, and program performance.
  • Design, construct, and test IPC examinations; assure accuracy and quality of finished product.
  • Troubleshoot software and operational problems.

Examination Maintenance – 40%

  • Quality Assurance Validation for Certification content.
  • Review client exams for consistency with source files.
  • Document and escalate deviations in client exams with source files.
  • Audit tests for typographical errors, formatting errors, internal inconsistencies, and other quality problems, and clearly communicate quality issues.

Content Database Management – 20%

  • Review and Manage current content for typographical errors, formatting errors, internal inconsistencies, and other quality problems, and clearly communicate quality issues.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • With the assistance of the Psychometrician produce technical documentation related to item, test, and program performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College Degree or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously, often under time constraints.
  • Excellent proofreading, language, and editing skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and thoroughly.
  • Attention to detail is imperative; Must be organized, accurate, and quality conscious.
  • Must be honest and maintain high-level ethical behavior.
  • Experience in areas of forecasting and prioritizing assigned tasks strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility related to workflow and changing priorities required.
  • Ability to maintain data confidentiality and security.
  • Able to follow directions, coordinate multiple projects, including producing high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Must also be willing to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comfort with email and telephone communications is essential to effectively interact with staff, contractors and committee members virtually. Must be able to work with people from various knowledge levels, personalities, economic and cultural backgrounds. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Skype/Zoom/WebEx, and customer relationship management software (e.g. Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft CRM, or equivalent), LMS and Item Banking software, as well as office equipment, i.e. headset.

Contract Remote Senior Drupal Software Engineer

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Contract Remote Senior Drupal Software Engineer.  Working remotely, this Senior Drupal Software Engineer can code custom Drupal 8 and 9 modules according to coding standards and best practices within an Agile framework. They will use TDD (Test-Driven Development) and pairing virtually with other Drupal developers for knowledge transfer and to increase quality and speed-to-value for our customers.  They will be responsible for developing reusable, scalable and maintainable website solutions and delivering best in class websites. The person should have demonstrable experience with the coding of Drupal 8 and 9 based systems with exceptional programming skills, problem solving abilities, experience and comfort working in an Agile development environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design/code Drupal 8 and 9 based software solutions following IPC’s production standards which include test-driven development (TDD) and paired programming.
  • Perform unit and regression testing of own development work.
  • Performance maintenance programming for existing implementations.
  • Document code and report on project deliverables.
  • Ability to tune a Drupal stack: MySQL performance tuning, code profiling, web server tuning, diagnosing performance bottlenecks.
  • Carry out root cause analysis on defects to ensure fixes are occurring correctly.
  • Explore new software development technologies and techniques.
  • Expected to ‘train the trainers’ on the software as well as work with the business owner to develop, breakdown, and refine the user stories.
  • Expected to track technical debt and refactor their code as needed.
  • Work in a remote Agile Scrum development team environment with paired programming.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines.

  • 2-4+ years of experience in Drupal/PHP software development for commercial-grade systems and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of and recent experience as a team member of Agile software development teams which will include Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Proficient in PHP, SQL, CSS3/HTML5, JavaScript/jQuery, and XML.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Experience responsibly working with a remote Agile scrum team.
  • Skilled in effective troubleshooting.
  • Strong communications skills in English, written and verbal, along with comfort interacting with users during interactive testing.
  • Experience with manual and/or automated testing.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Full-time (40 hours per week) mainly working in a remote team environment but interacting with the IPC office and IT staff located in the Central and Eastern time zones and very occasionally in Europe or Asia.
  • Available to interact with users during customary working hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT).
