IPC  PCB & PCBA - Building Electronics Better for world

Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) are foundational elements in the world of electronics, enabling the creation and functionality of a vast array of devices. A PCB is the rigid board that holds the electronic components together, while a PCBA is the finished assembly with those components mounted and connected. They are essential for efficient, reliable, and compact electronics, playing a crucial role in the digital revolution.

IPC  Thailand’s Growing PCB Industry: Strengthening Regional Supply Chains

Thailand’s PCB industry continues to grow as a key contributor to the global and regional electronics supply chain. With strong capabilities in downstream manufacturing, the country has positioned itself as a reliable exporter, with approximately 70–75% of its PCB output by value serving overseas markets. Key export destinations such as China, the US, Japan, and Vietnam reflect the global confidence in Thai-made PCBs, particularly in high-value segments like multi-layer PCBs.

While the industry currently relies on imports for many upstream and midstream materials, a few leading players are beginning to localize input production, such as laminates and prepregs, signaling future opportunities for deeper value chain integration. This growing industrial base, supports not only exports but also domestic industries, including communications, automotive, medical devices, and industrial electronics.

Thailand’s role as both a manufacturing hub and export leader, combined with its expanding ecosystem of international investors, makes it an increasingly important player in building a resilient and competitive electronics supply chain across Southeast Asia.

Domestic PCB production in Thailand is projected to grow
annually by 2.0–3.0% from 2025 to 2027
