IPC’s statistical programs for the global assembly equipment and solder industries are now open to new participants for 2018. The deadline for IPC members to sign up is April 6. Participation is free to IPC-member companies as a benefit of membership.
On January 1, 2019, the Wire Harness Manufacturer’s Association (WHMA), a trade association representing the cable assembly and wire harness manufacturing industry supply chain, and IPC entered into an affiliation agreement. WHMA’s Board of Directors and membership determined that WHMA’s mission would more effectively be served by an affiliation with IPC which serves the global electronics industry supply chain, including the wire and cable industry vertical.
IPC invites engineers, researchers, academics, technical experts and industry leaders to submit abstracts for IPC APEX EXPO 2022 to be held at the San Diego Convention Center. Professional development courses will take place January 23, 24 and 27, 2022 and the technical conference will take place January 25–27, 2022.
IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® IPC released the results of its first-quarter 2018 global Pulse of the Electronics Industry survey at IPC APEX EXPO 2018 in San Diego on February 28. The survey shows worldwide business environment scores as positive and strengthening. The outlook for the next six months and 12 months climbed to their highest levels since the quarterly survey was launched in July 2017.

Don Dupriest, Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, has been elected chair of the IPC Technical Activities Executive Committee (TAEC) for a two-year term. Dupriest succeeds Chris Mahanna of Robisan Laboratory, Inc., who held the role for IPC's top standards development oversight committee for the past two years.
The fourth M-EXPO Wire Processing Technology exhibition (M-EXPO) will be held in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, September 21-22, 2022. Due to ongoing COVID-19 health and welfare concerns, the event will not be held in 2021.
IPC announces the addition of Yusaku Kono as IPC’s Japan Representative. As IPC’s Japan Representative, Kono will lead the association’s efforts in expanding member outreach, standards development, education and advocacy support in Japan. He is based in Tokyo, Japan.
