Vice President of Standards

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Vice President of Standards.

As the VP of Standards, you will develop and implement strategic goals and objectives within standards groups as directed by the CEO/President and Board of Directors.  This role provides direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives with respect to standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy: Drive strategic adjustments and recommendations to ensure the standards processes, activities, and products remain the leading products for the benefit of the electronics industry.  Collaborate with the organization’s executive team, industry stakeholders, and Board members to ensure these directions are meeting ever-changing global needs.  Incorporation of strategic directions into departmental actionable plans that have well defined tangible results for organization.  Responsible for directly incorporating inputs from IPC Board of Directors, Technical Advisory Executive Committee (TAEC), and CEO into departmental goals and functions.  

Personnel: Responsible for all standards personnel globally.  Ensure this team can deliver both the needs of today and those anticipated for tomorrow. Responsible for hiring, firing and staffing required for maintaining continuity of operations.  Provide mentorship and vision to directors and managers on an as needed and regular basis. Responsible for conducting regular meetings with directors and managers providing feedback based on initiatives and outcomes. 

Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations for departments associated with standards. Responsible for fiscal management of departmental activities related to profit and loss for this core program area within the organization. 

Communications: Management and conflict resolution between and among high level corporate technology officers, committee chairpersons, IPC employees, consultants, and industry spokes people. Responsible for:  management of appeals process for standards development, enforcement of IPC code of conduct for standards committees, adherence to process of standardization including ANSI essential requirements.  Manage technical committees for standards development. 

Relationships: Oversee relationships with other technical organizations regarding standards and technology development.  Responsible for managing technical relationships with other trade associations regarding joint standard development and technical activities including:  NIST, JEDEC, IEEE, AIA, GEIA, SEMI, etc.  Responsible for the oversight of development of technical certification programs associated with content within standards.  

External Presence: Participation in industry advisory boards and councils as well as contribution as an industry thought leader.

Other: General administration and support of tradeshows and conferences. Other specific executive-level projects or initiative support as required to strengthen the organization.

Director, Industry Intelligence

IPC International, Inc., the global trade association for the electronics manufacturing industry, seeks a Director, Industry Intelligence to build the association’s qualitative and quantitative research programs, which focus on technology, workforce, environmental and economic matters. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with IPC staff, member companies, and stakeholders to develop and implement a robust annual research agenda that encompasses surveys, studies, and white papers that IPC undertakes internally or through external partners. The position will also oversee IPC’s Thought Leaders Program, which provides a platform for industry experts to share their insights on timely and compelling subjects related to electronics manufacturing. In addition to overseeing the scoping and implementation of research, the director will be charged with developing new content delivery mechanisms for IPC research, as well as a strategy for the realization of engagement and monetization metrics. This position reports to the VP Government Relations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a long-term vision for IPC’s industry intelligence program, as well as annual research agenda.
  • Scope, implement and publish studies and surveys that IPC undertakes internally or through strategic partners.
  • Oversee the growth of IPC's statistical programs which includes managing an outside contractor, recruiting and retaining participants, and ensuring accuracy and privacy of data. 
  • Contribute to the quality of IPC research by suggesting new techniques, tools and processes and by leveraging statistical data for additional analysis and research. 
  • Scoping and implementing studies and surveys.
  • Manage existing and develop new distribution channels and platforms for IPC research with a monetization plan to support such channels and platforms. 
  • Market IPC’s Industry Intelligence program through development of brochures, press releases, web content, presentations, webinars, and blogs. 
  • Oversee IPC’s Thought Leadership Program of outside experts. 
  • Represent IPC on the World Electronic Circuits Council (WECC) Statistics and Market Committee and provide data as appropriate.

Standards Development Manager, Printed Board Materials

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Standards Development Manager. The Standards Development Manager leads standards development activities for materials for printed boards, printed board assemblies, additive manufacturing and coatings. 

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the standard development projects that promote best practices for production and acceptance of printed board materials, including processes, fabrication, equipment and related services.
  • Work with committee volunteers and subject matter experts to develop industry standards utilizing approved procedures, white papers and other documentation to be used for production and acceptance of printed boards, printed board assemblies, additive manufacturing and coatings, and make recommendations for new publications and projects.

The Training Content Specialist identifies subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist in the development and evaluation of courses designed for workers in the electronics manufacturing industry, locating and assessing media requested by instructional designers, and reviewing and editing all course storyboards for accuracy and clarity.      

Responsibilities:                                               

Identify and collaborate with SMEs – 25%

Locate and vet subject matter experts in the electronics manufacturing industry. Coordinate with SMEs to gather relevant information and insights for course content. Ensure SME contributions are accurate, current, and aligned with course objectives.

Media Assessment and Procurement – 25%

Storyboard Review and Editing – 50%

Certification Test Development Specialist

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Certification Test Development Specialist. The Certification Test Development Specialist assists in the completion of the Department’s work and projects in a timely manner. Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other IPC departments and staff members and with organizations and individuals outside the Association.  This position will assist operational examination development activities related to psychometrics, interactions with SMEs, item development and review workshops, examination building, quality assurance of exams.  Identifying and communicating defects in processes and working toward continual improvement of the Examination Development process.

Responsibilities

Examination Development – 40%

  • With the assistance of the Psychometrician produce technical documentation related to items, test, and program performance.
  • Design, construct, and test IPC examinations; assure accuracy and quality of finished product.
  • Troubleshoot software and operational problems.
  • Oversee the formation and growth of Certification Committees
  • Oversee the entire Item Writing Development process with the respective Certification Committees with assistance from the Psychometrician.

Examination Maintenance – 40%

  • Quality Assurance Validation for Certification content
  • Review Certification exams for consistency with source files
  • Document and escalate deviations in client exams with source files
  • Audit tests for typographical errors, formatting errors, internal inconsistencies, and other quality problems, and clearly communicate quality issues.
  • Oversee the entire Item Review process with the with the respective Certification Committees with assistance from the Psychometrician.

Content Database Management – 20%

  • Review and manage current content for typographical errors, formatting errors, internal inconsistencies, and other quality problems, and clearly communicate quality issues.

  • In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and designing the layout of three monthly and one quarterly magazine, typically 100-pages each.

  • Collaborate with our team to understand the magazine's content and objectives.

  • Organize and arrange provided content in a visually appealing and engaging manner.

  • Create layouts that adhere to our brand guidelines and enhance the overall aesthetic with appeal to our audience in the electronics industry.

  • Utilize your expertise in design, typography, and composition to create a captivating visual experience for readers.
