Senior Technologist

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Senior Technologist. This is a global remote/hybrid role and will ideally be in North America, Europe, or Asia. The Senior Technologist works with leading electronics companies and governments at the forefront of innovation to identify and deliver new solutions to IPC members and the industry. This role is within the IPC Technology Solutions department and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

RESPONSIBILITIES

IPC Initiative Leadership: Take charge, set direction, and drive forward one of IPC's key initiatives – Advanced Packaging, Design, or combination of both. This leadership position requires strategic thinking and the ability to navigate the complexities of electronic packaging, electronic system design, and new ways of manufacturing.

Innovation and Solutions Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, lead, and execute initiatives that result in new solutions for IPC members, including new standards and workforce education training. You have extensive experience that spans the spectrum of electronic hardware systems, encompassing materials, design, electronic components, printed circuit boards, printed circuit board assembly, complex integrated systems, Ind4.0 manufacturing, qualification, quality/reliability assessment, and final system assembly.

Regional and Global Supply Chain Integration: In addition to your strong technical background is your extensive supply chain experience to lead and deliver IPC key initiatives. The role will involve interfacing with commercial companies and government entities regionally and globally.

Technical Expertise: Apply your expertise in electronic packaging, electronic system design, or complex integrated systems to set strategic direction and deliver new IPC solutions to members and industry. Stay abreast of industry technological advancements and industry trends to ensure IPC remains a leader in the rapidly evolving electronics manufacturing landscape.

  • Position requires an engineering degree; Master’s, MBA, or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years within the electronics industry with demonstrated, sustained industry contributions and influence.
  • The role requires subject matter expertise in either or both: Microelectronics Packaging OR Electronic Systems Design
  • Must have strong technical and global supply chain experience of electronic hardware systems spanning a wide variety of technical areas spanning materials, design/EDA, advanced packaging (substrates, IDM/OSAT), Ind4.0 and digitization, HDI printed circuit boards (PCB), complex integrated systems (CIS), printed circuit board assembly (EMS/ODM), and OEM products/systems engineering.
  • Must be able to travel throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, approximately 20%.

Sustainability Policy Manager

IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Sustainability Policy Manager based from IPC’s Washington, D.C. or Munich, Germany office. The Sustainability Policy Manager will be a member of IPC’s public affairs team and will be responsible for coordinating information relevant to regulatory affairs and industry advocacy on environmental, social, and corporate sustainability policies. They will be responsible for monitoring global policy developments and regulatory requirements, consulting with industry members and policymakers, and developing responses to consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and organization of advocacy communications including responses to open comment periods, consultations, questionnaires, and calls for evidence.
  • Educate and bring awareness about global environmental policy activities via newsletters, blogs, websites, presentations, meetings, position papers, briefing materials, and conference events.
  • Work with IPC global government relations teams and IPC member companies to gather insights and identify policy priorities.
  • Work with and take guidance from IPC’s Lead Strategist for Sustainability to ensure that advocacy activities reflect IPC strategic priorities.
  • Liaise with industry stakeholders and policy makers to identify, organize, and exchange information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters a plus in Environmental Policy, Public Policy, or related.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in regulatory affairs activities including prioritizing policy activities, preparing comments, forming partnerships, event planning, networking, and public relations.
  • Knowledge of the global sustainability policy landscape including relevant regulatory agencies and trends required. (e.g., emerging policies on sustainable chemicals and products, evolving policies on environmental and social sustainability).
  • Familiarity/experience with the electronics manufacturing industry and/or industry trade associations preferred. 
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating to various stakeholders, including drafting stakeholder comments in response to calls for evidence, questionnaires, or consultations.
  • Must have solid project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings with industry stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, curious, creative, able to work independently and with a team.
  • Ideal candidate will be located near Washington, DC, Brussels, BE, or Munich, DE; all qualified candidates will be considered.

Part-Time Contract Copy Editor

IPC Publishing Group (I-Connect007), a subsidiary of IPC International, Inc., is looking to hire a Part-Time Contract Copy Editor. The Part-Time Contract Copy Editor assists the editorial team in reviewing and editing interviews and submitted content produced for daily, weekly, and monthly publications.

CORE ASSIGNMENTS

  • Review and edit articles and interviews as assigned for clarity, grammar, facts, and consistency in a way that maintains the author’s voice and intent. Content may range from a few hundred words to several thousand.
  • Adhere to company guidelines, style sheets, usage, and nomenclature.
  • Work closely with I-Connect007 Copy Editor to manage assignments in a timely manner.
  • Proofread magazine and other I-Connect007 publication proofs in final stage of production.
