PERM Task Group Structure and Online Workspace Sites

PERM is organized to provide industry leadership across several dedicated task teams and advisory groups that are open to industry membership. The PERM Council, like all of the IPC Committees, uses IPC WORKS, a document management system which allows Council members to create, revise, and distribute documents in real-time fashion among these task teams:
PERM Global Advocacy Task Group – Attempt to track all pending U.S. National, International, Pb-free and closely associated legislation and regulations that could affect Aerospace and Defense electronics.
PERM Training Task Group - Provide Pb-free awareness training for all U.S. DoD acquisition and technical agent organizations as well as Defense and Aerospace Industry. Also provide applicable training materials as required regarding handling, management, and implementation of Pb-free technology.
PERM Pb-free Processes and Controls Task Group - Develop strategies and tools for controlling and managing Pb-free process and products in Aerospace and Defense products.
PERM Research Coordination and Technical Guidance Task Group - Identify and advocate for technical research programs that will address the critical needs of the Aerospace & Defense industry with regard to the global transition to Pb-free electronics.
PERM Communication Task Group - Provide an efficient mechanism for the Aerospace and Defense community to collect and disseminate information about Pb-free electronics.
PERM Self-Mitigation of Tin by SMT Task Group – Provides White Papers and Technical Reports on the risk associated with whisker growth from pure tin solderable terminations that can be fully mitigated when all of the pure tin is dissolved into tin-lead solder during SMT reflow.
