ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Sharon Starr, IPC
Sharon Starr is director of market research at IPC, where she directs all IPC market research studies and statistical programs.  She has been responsible for expanding and globalizing many of these programs since she joined IPC in 2003.  She also spearheaded the cooperative efforts of the World Electronic Circuit Council (WECC) organizations, which now share data on the PCB industry and publish global statistics for their members. She develops IPC’s Executive Market & Technology Conferences and facilitates IPC’s long-range planning process. Sharon is a regularly featured speaker at industry events, including IPC APEX EXPO and the annual IPC Executive Summit.

Michael Carano is vice president of technical operations for OM Group’s Electronic Chemicals facility. He holds 9 U.S. patents and 20 foreign patents covering a variety of technologies including plating, metallization processes and PCB fabrication techniques. Carano has published more than 65 technical articles and presented numerous papers all over the world. He holds a B.S. in chemistry, an MBA in international marketing, and has completed two years of graduate work in polymer chemistry.
