Who Are We?
Associations representing the electronic circuits industries in Asia, Europe and North America formed the World Electronic Circuits Council (WECC) in 1998. WECC is a group of related industry trade associations from throughout the world that provides a forum and focus for bringing industry representatives together to address important issues that are best addressed on a global basis.

Mission and General Rules
WECC - World Electronic Circuits Council Mission Statement
The frequency of changes in the world economic environment and its supporting industrial structures requires ongoing investment and innovation from the World Electronic Circuits Industry to meet accelerating demands for flexibility and responsiveness. This council will therefore provide a forum where member organizations cooperate for the benefit and improvement of the industry, through development, coordination, and implementation of strategies and programs in the fields of technology, marketing, resource development, environment, and economic/political affairs. Once defined, this Council will also undertake to promote these activities in a spirit of responsibility towards the World Electronic Circuits Industry based on the principles of free enterprise, cooperation, and mutually rewarding coexistence.
WECC Standards Released Under Condition
The goal of the WECC standardization process is to achieve fast global coverage and uniform implementation of standards of interest to the electronic interconnection industry.

China Printed Circuit Association (CPCA), approved by the Administration of Civil Affairs Department of China, is the national grade one printed circuit trade organization under the lead of Ministry of Information Industry Department. It has 600 members who are PCB producers, CCL and special material suppliers, special equipment manufacturers, SMT and EMS manufacturers, research institutes and colleges as well as universities. Nine grade two division associations are under CPCA. Established in 1990, CPCA owns independent corporate position.
CPCA organizes the member companies to participate in CPCA and WECC standardization works; develops joint standards with WECC sister association such as IPC and JPCA; participates in tariff term and material consumption rate standardization; publishes newspapers, magazines and books; maintains CPCA website; holds annual CPCA Show in every March and annual Spring and Autumn Symposiums; conducts training and workshops; carries out industry survey and releases annual “Top 100 Chinese Electronic Circuits Enterprises”.
The European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC), based in The Netherlands, is an international service provider to the European Interconnection and Packaging Industry. Since 1968, the EIPC is servicing almost 130 member companies, including suppliers of machinery and materials to the PCB industry, PCB Manufacturers, contract electronics manufacturers and OEMs.
Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association Limited (HKPCA), established in year 2000, is a Hong Kong based trade association dedicated to promote and protect the right and interests of its member companies in the printed circuit industry. As the number of PCB manufacturers in China continues to grow, HKPCA supports and organizes technical and business seminars, training, conferences and exhibitions in Hong Kong and China to help its members and other industry players to sustain their growth. Our mission and objectives are to promote and protect the rights and interests of the printed circuit industry, represent the industry and present its views to the Government and/or other parties, establish and manage funds for charity purposes, develop and strengthen internal and external communication, with a view to enhancing cooperation and business opportunities, by means of the following:
- Organizing technical/business seminars and recreational functions
- Gathering and distributing relevant information to members
- Establishing links with overseas counterparts, such as CPCA, JPCA, TPCA, IPC, KPCA, IPCA and EIPC
Since 1957, IPC—Association Connecting Electronics Industries® has been guiding the electronic interconnection industry through its dramatic changes. A global trade association dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its more than 2,400 member companies, IPC is the only electronic interconnect organization that brings together all industry players, including designers, board manufacturers, assembly companies, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers.
As a member-driven organization and leading source for industry standards, training, market research and public policy advocacy, IPC supports programs to meet the needs of a $40 billion U.S. industry that employs more than 350,000 people. The Association also provides its members with countless opportunities to network—the ultimate renewable resource and a cornerstone of IPC membership since day one—through its international tradeshows, educational programs, technical conferences and online seminars.
The Indian Printed Circuit Association, established in the year 1985 is a voluntary, non-profit, service oriented, professional organization, formed with the sole objective of promoting the state-of-art PCB design, technology and manufacture in the country by mutual exchange of ideas and technical interaction arranged through seminars, conferences, educational programmes and international tradeshows. An electronic design wing of IPCA was added to it in the year 2001 with the formation of Electronic Designers Council of India (EDCI) as an affiliate member of the IPC Designers Council to join the global society of designers dedicated to further the electronic design requirements. Membership of IPCA is open to PCB designers, manufacturers, end users, manufacturers & suppliers of equipment, raw materials and their authorized representatives who devote their time, toil and talent to the progress of PCB technology in the country.

Corporation Japanese etched circuit manufacturer's association (Japan Electronics Packaging and Circuits Association: JPCA). JPCA was established in 1962, as the optional group and in 1977 it is the enterprise group of production business and affiliated business of the only etched circuit in Japan which is permitted as a Corporation from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
JPCA contributes to the healthy development of etched circuit industry and related industry by assuring the advancement of etched circuit industry, contributes to the progress advancement of electronic engineering technology and the improvement of machine function electronic quality of the etched circuit, by assuring the improvement of efficiency, has and designates that it contributes to the development of national economy as purpose.
The Korea Printed Circuit Association established in July 2003 has been in charge of the contribution to KPCA member's benefit as well as the improvement of the global electronic circuits industry, through the reinforcement of Korean PCB industry competition and the mutual cooperation of its membership. To cope with the situation, KPCA constructs the mutual cooperation of its membership and offers information on the PCB market and products. In addition, KPCA manages KPCA-show as a professional PCB exhibition yearly. KPCA is also active in the capacity of membership of the World Electronic Circuits Council (WECC) and exerts all possible efforts to make the global PCB industry developed, in cooperation with the overseas associations.
The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) was established in 1998. The TPCA is the only PCB industry organization approved by the government of Taiwan serving 536 member companies. TPCA aims to provide the latest market information, promote information exchange and resources among members through collaborative efforts, and attend international conventions.
